Capilano and Grouse Mountain in one day
Three of the six options put both North Shore attractions into a single day: a 7-hour coach tour, a 5-hour small-group version capped at 14 people, and a private car. They differ in how many strangers you share the day with and how much you pay for that, and not much else.
The 7-hour coach day, and what is actually in it
At $190 this is the most booked of the three and the longest. There are 83 pickup points, including the cruise pier and hotels out in Richmond; the primary pickup is the Residence Inn by Marriott at around 10:35. Between the two attractions the coach stops at Cleveland Dam, which is the only scheduled stop on any of these tours that is not one of the paid gates.

What you get on the mountain shifts with the season: the lumberjack show and the grizzly refuge run in summer, so a booking in November is a different day out from one in July. The coach tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, and the bridge, Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk are not wheelchair accessible in any case. The small-group version, capped at 14
Five hours instead of seven, $222 instead of $190, and a maximum of 14 guests. It meets at a Vancouver hotel lobby or the Canada Place cruise terminal and includes both admissions, the Skyride, hotel or cruise-port pickup and drop-off, live commentary, bottled water and skip-the-line tickets. Food, drink and tips are not in it. A private upgrade is offered, which is worth knowing before you pay for the private tour outright.
John from Canada put it plainly after his day: “Eric was so friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. Pick up from my hotel was awesome.” The guides get named in these reviews far more often than the itinerary does, which tells you where the value sits.
The private car, and why it is not my headline pick
The private tour runs five hours in a sedan, SUV or van at $432 per person, with both admissions, bottled water, hotel, airport or cruise-terminal drop-off, and taxes, fees, parking and tolls all inside the price. Driver gratuity is not. It runs in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
It also has two reviews. Two. A 5.0 average built on two people tells you nothing you can lean on, so I list it because it is the only private option here with both admissions bundled, not because the score means anything yet. Book the summer months if the grizzly refuge and the lumberjack show matter to you, and check the weather on the mountain rather than downtown — the Skyride climbs a long way above a city that can be perfectly clear at sea level.
Doing it yourself instead
With a car this is an ordinary day: buy Capilano admission at $57, drive to the mountain, buy the Skyride at the gate. What the tour actually sells is the driving, the parking and someone talking to you between the two, not a bundled discount — so the fair comparison is against CAD $9.00 for three hours of parking and CAD $25–30 for a rideshare, which is the sum laid out on the cost page. Without a car, the comparison collapses and the coach wins.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a shuttle from Capilano to Grouse Mountain?
No. The free shuttle Capilano runs is a downtown service from Canada Place, the Hyatt Regency and the Blue Horizon Hotel, and it needs proof of admission for the return trip. Nothing public links the bridge to the mountain, so a combo tour is the practical way to do both in a day. Getting there has the transit alternatives.
How long does the Capilano and Grouse Mountain tour take?
Seven hours on the coach tour, five on the small-group and private versions. Add the fact that most people spend two to three hours inside Capilano alone and you can see where the day goes; what to expect walks through the park in order.
Is the combo tour suitable for wheelchair users?
The 7-hour coach tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, and the Suspension Bridge, Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk are not wheelchair accessible either. Wheelchair users get complimentary admission to the accessible parts of the park, the restaurants and shops. The private tour is the most flexible on transport, though it changes nothing about the walks.
Will I see the lumberjack show and the grizzly bears?
Both are seasonal on Grouse Mountain, with the grizzly refuge running in summer. Book outside those months and the Skyride and the views are still there, but the show is not.
